Bridging Brains
and Machines
Mahamaia Systems is a frontier research lab architecting the physical substrate of intelligence. We create unified systems -where quantum, thermodynamic, and neuromorphic dynamics couple -to form a new class of physically-grounded AI for discovery.
The Lab
Founded in San Francisco, Mahamaia is structured as an open research environment where the boundary between theoretical physics and machine learning is intentionally blurred. Our work is a physics-of-computation research program: we co-design algorithms, device physics, and materials from first principles.
We believe that the next leap in artificial intelligence will not come from scaling alone, but from a fundamental re-grounding of intelligence in the physical laws of the universe. Our work is guided by the Free Energy Principle, driving us to build systems that, like biological intelligence, actively minimize surprise and metabolic cost.
Core Pillars
Rigorous benchmark-based validation over market hype.
Committing to foundational research that benefits the broader ecosystem.
Solving problems from the quantum molecular level to macroscopic perception.
Co-designing algorithms, device physics, materials, and physical dynamics from the ground up.
